Car: 1989 rs RIP, 96 grand marquis, 92rs
Engine: LO3, 4.6l, L03
Transmission: 700r4, AODE,700r4
Axle/Gears: 2.73, 3.08, 2.73
no spark/ power from coil

i was driving down the interstate and next thing i know the engine just died instantly. i put on a new distributor cap and rotor and a new ignition coil. im getting no power from the coil wire. what do yall think it is. i have no idea what goes on before the coil. any help would be appreciated

Ignition Control Module or Pick-Up Coil, both located in the distributor under the cap.

if Trickster is wrong (which i have never seen before) check for a wire burned on the exhaust or cut by something. basically, follow the wire from the distributor to the battery.

Getting a wiring diagram would be a good place to start. I assume you mean the 12v power to the primary side of the coil. Check the fuse, if you have power at the fuse but not the coil a cut or burned wire might be the cause. If the fuse is blown it is a short to ground in the wire to the coil.
