did you check the wires from the starter to the fuse block? did you check fuses? reason i ask about the wires is because there are fusible links down there that could be fried. that is basically where the power distribution starts...

ok i found a wire coming off the posative terminal that goes into a fusable link and comes out in two wires. i unhooked the connector on the otherside of one of those wires and used the test light and it didnt light up could it be that the link is whats causing nothing to work?

never mind i didnt test it correctly. that fuse is good. the wire to the starter is good. the wire to the alternator is good. and the ground to the alternator bracket is good. ?WHAT CAN BE WRONG? would a bad starter make everything go dead. because i cant figure out why the marker lights work but the actual headlights will light up but the motors wont do anything. COULD IT BE IN THE COMPUTER

Check the ground connector going to your frame (from battery to under the car)......It is probably dirty as hell or loose. Undo it and clean it up. Reapply and watch the magic

When you say the dash lights, are you by any chance referring to the idiot lights on the dash panel? You know, the ones that say Service engine soon and so forth. Also what ground to the alternator bracket are you talking about?
