Never mind, i can figure this out myself. Does anybody know what current the stock door lock switches are rated for? That will determine which resistor i use to limit current, as well as which relay i select.

What resistor? Why are you limiting the current to the door lock solenoids? The swap should be vary straight forward. Are you getting the locks from a donor car or are they after market. Did you score any of the harness at the same time? What about the switches? Adding remote locks at the same time?
But first, have you searched?

I have searced. I am making my own wiring harness and relay setup. I am limiting the current through the stock lock switches, not the solenoid. I don't want to pick the wrong solenoid and burn out the switches.

If you’re using relays the only current through the switches should be the relay coil current, not the lock solenoid current. The door lock solenoid current should all be passing through the relay contacts. If you looking at using Bosh or ‘Bosh style’ relays the current through the switches should be well under 400mA and the contacts are rated for at lest 30A. You can push Bosh relay contacts well past that for short bursts, like locking/unlocking the doors. How are you trying to do this?

Awesome. I wasnt sure if the relays had built in current limiting. I know if you use a voltage source without a resistor on some relays, the coil burns out. Nice to know I don't have to worry about it. Thanks for that link!
that will save me trying to figure out what does what with a multimeter

Buy a reversing relay on Ebay for about 4 bucks, get ten for about $15. Junkyards are full of the GM relays, that's the best bet. Takes some head scratching to figure out the wiring. Door switches will only handle the relay coil current.
