Need help with gas gauge
I just swapped in a dash and gauge cluster out of a 1992 Camaro into my 1988 Camaro. I had a thread going here which helped me out big time doing it so I figured I might get some help with my next issue.
The oil pressure, gas gauge, and speedo don't work. All the other gauges do. I know I need a new oil PSI gauge sending unit and I need to wire in the speedo. That fixes those two. However, the gas gauge was wired in and doesn't read right. It's always on E and barely moves.
I'm pretty sure it was wired in right. Also from what I have been told by local GM dealers and from what I've looked up myself, the sending unit in the tank is the same from like 87-92 so it should work, but it don't. Maybe the gauge is bad?
Is there a buffer somewhere or something else I could look at? The sending unit worked with the old gauges. I need to get it working because I have no idea how much gas I have right now. Any help is appreciated as always

Looking at my friend's instructions, it looks like we took a pink wire in the 1988 harness and spliced it into a purple wire on the 92 harness
