quick question on start system

quick question on start system

I just want to add an extra simple disable switch to my car when I park it in strange places. I plan on just cutting out the wire / switch for the clutch safety start switch. Yellow wire from IGN goes to the clutch switch and then purple wire goes to the starter.

I am just gonna use a simple push/pull 15amp **** switch. So it would be wired in-line. Just not sure which wire to put it on, the yellow or purple. I could climb down there and just try it to find out but Id rather know and save my back extra work under the dash.

I am thinking if I put it on the wrong wire it would start without the clutch being pushed. Or maybe I'm thinking to much. Kinda hazzy from cold meds. Can't think it out straight.

Your best bet would be to mount it coming off the purple wire. A friend did one on his camaro and had the switch mounted under the ashtray on the tunnel. Remove the ashtray, flip switch and no power to starter.
