Ok I have a problem with my 89 starting and running. When I go out to start my car it fires after a couple of cranks but it's missing really bad. It is getting spark and the fule pump is working i have 48 psi at the rails. The motor is new it is not stock it has a comp cam grind XR276HR Big Mouth Base and a Super Ram and about 10.8 compreshion. If I turn it off and try to start it it just cranks but if i let it sit for like 5 hours it will start right up. Last night I was driving it with the bad miss just to put some miles on it and it just died while giving it gas so I pulled over and tryed to start it up and it just cranked. It had spark and the fule pump was working dose anyone know what could be causing this thanks John

 

has it rained or snowed recently or did you do anything to car before it started doing this?

 

No it hasn't rained and it doesn't snow hear do you think that there could be moisture in the cap. the motor is new it has been doning this since i got it running.

 

what is your timeing at?
fule press?

 

also cheak the plugs

 

The timing is set at 6* befor TDC fule pressure is 49 psi

 

All of the plugs were fouled with fule so i cleaned them checked the fule pressure it was 49 psi when i statr it pressure drops to 45 psiall plug wires are good MSD 8.5 MM rotor is new but cap has seen better days it runs better now but is still missing anyone have any ideas
