HEI Diagnostics...help!
Just dropped in a fresh motor in my IROC and she won't fire. I've got 12 volts to the HEI but no spark. Must be the HEI but where do I start to look for the problem. It's an MSD Super HEI with about 25 miles on it. Worked fine until the new motor was installed. Confused.

check the control module. Make sure the voltage wire is plugged into the correct spot.

Perfect call on the module, LT1. I put in a spare module from Performance Distributers and it fired right up. Who would have guessed that the problem would happen after only 25 miles from such a reputable company as MSD? Hopefully I can get a refund. I don't recall what the duration of the warranty was.

the gm style module is a funny thing. They give no warning of what is about to happen and then leave you stranded.
