need help from the experts!
trying to remove all the unused wiring inside the car before the cage is installed. can i remove all the vats stuff and still use the key to start it? the purple wires in the sir harness running to the crank fuse can they be removed or will this kill the crank circuit? Ill have more just one step at a time thanks guys for any help. Later Aaron
You would have to satisfy the VATS input or program the ECM to ignore VATS so the ECM can operate the start enable relay. Since you may not even be using the ECM (guessing by your modification list) you'll have to enable the starter via some other means, probably by eliminating the start enable relay and wiring and having the ignition switch operate the starter directly (just like the factory used to do).

Wiring diagrams help alot
Remove all traces of wiring when ya remove a function and remove all the non used options and you should be set at bare minimum
Not sure why youd want to get rid of all the unused wiring for ...I could understand for the engine bay tryin to minimize wiring and relocate them outta sight
Do a search for VATS bypass and youll see how a 30 cent resistor can override the VATS system if your using the computer. If ya not using it, then scratch all the wiring and buy a universal hotrod wiring kit. It'll be ONLY a basic motor wiring and minimal body wiring
