Glow gauges and fan switch - problems
1) Minor problem here, got the reverse glow gauges, they're selectable, blue or green color. When I have them on blue, I get that interference or whatever it's called sound, like a high pitch quiet buzzer.
When I switch to green, no sound at all.
Is it due to wiring ? How can I fix it ?
I can get it to go away but only by dimming the blue gauges, and I like it turn on all the way.
2) Bigger problem here. I installed the manual fan switch and I wanted to run a blue LED in a holder, hooked up to the switch.
I did a search and wired it according to this post:
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=229310
Problem is, it worked the opposite way, i.e. when switch was OFF the light was on, switch was ON light was off.
Additionally, I think I somehow burned \out the LED since after a while I couldn't even get back to the initial reverse order.
Could I do it this way ?
Run a wire from a 12V source, through a resistor, to the LED, and run one wire from the LED to the wire going in to the switch from the fan relay ?

I have those guages. THey do hum on blue over half power. I think that is a natural side effect of the high voltage involved. THey are too bright over half anyway. Turn your radio louder.
Wire the negative side (short lead, cathode) of the LED to ON switch peg, the one that grounds the fan's relay.
Wire positive positive side (longer side, the anode) of LED to a switched ignition source at fuse box. Put a roughly 680 or so 1/2 watt resistor inline between the positve LED and your switched ignition source, which should be at the fuse box.

I also have those gauges, and yes mine make the"noise" also. But I cannot turn mine up over half way becuse the are TOO bright. Can't see to drive at night. So I have mine bright enough to see whats going but no noise.

Alright, thanks guys.
To me they're not too bright, but it may be that my regular dimmer may be off right now.
