amp problems.
i have a 300 wt crunch amp. something odd happened. when ever i turn on the car, my amp automatically goes to protect mode. like something is shorting it out or something. so i unhooked all the spkrs going to it, and i hooked up the power connections from my other amp to it, and same thing is happening. there's nothing that i could see shorting it out. i even unhooked the rca plugs just to be sure. and it just keeps going to protect mode. it was brought up in the car audio forum, that it needs to be sent for repairs. i thought maybe i could get some help here to fix it myself, maybe...
It probably does need to be sent somewhere for repairs. Kind of nice it has some protection on it though. Maybe you'll be lucky and its just a bad temperature sensor(if it has one).
To fix equipment such as an amp having the schematic for the amp is almost required and to get those aren't always easy. But if its an easy fix like a piece of wire or junk laying across the outputs causing it to go into protection, then no problem. Since you dont see anything like that then its probably a bigger problem.
