wiring harness
my buddy has an 89 that were going to get back on the road.. and pretty much the main thing it needs is a wiring harness from the firewall to the dash... I guess what happened was where the big bunch of wires that comes through the firewall, one wire shorted out and ruined everything. so..
what all can we use to fix this? the plan is to get the parts from a junkyard, but we don't know if we have to get the wiring harness from the same year, or if we can just get the wiring harness and computer from another year and make it work.
if it makes a difference it is a 305 FI Auto

Every year and even trimline varies with its wiring harness. Your best, easiest, and quickest bet would be to fix the shorted wire.
