Ok, ive been having some major problems with my interior lighting, and I dont know where or how to get this fixed. This all started after the battery was put back in, let me explain.

My car is an 87" GTA, 350, with a digital dash/display/radio/push button ac controls.

About four weeks ago my car started to act very strangely, I would be driving and all the sudden my car would start to stumble very badly and would bog down if I pressed the gas pedal.
I took the car to Autozone (Bad mistake ) to have the battery and alternator checked, the alt. was good, and they charged the battery,(too low to test)
After the battery was charged and put back in, we saw sparks coming from a wire, turns out to be a burnt wire, so, I decide to go on home.

Here is where I noticed something wrong, when I started the car, I turned on the headlights, I immediately noticed that my interior lights didnt work anymore, and that the radio wasnt lit up, I could still hear music and change volume/channels, just no clock/little lights anymore.

When I turned the headlights off, the digital clock on the radio along with the little yellow lights on the radio came back on, but my interior lights did NOT come back on, when I say "interior" lights, im talking about the lights by the shifter that illuminate the "P,R,N,D,1,2", they dont come on, the red lights behind the words that read "HEATER, MAX, VENT, DEF....", they dont light up anymore, the yellow light that indicates what button is pressed in works, but my buttons that are to the left of the screen that has my milage, avg speed and whatnot, they dont light up.

ALL of these lights worked before I had the battery taken out, and stopped working after it was put back in.

Problems:
All radio lights/digital clock goes off when headlights/parking lights are turned on.
Lights that read "MAX,VENT,DEF" dont light up anymore.
Lights by shifter "P,R,N,D,2,1" dont light up anymore.
Buttons by the screen that has my milage, ect dont light up anymore.

Everything on my digital dash works fine.

As I said, this ALL stopped working after the battery was recharged and put back in. The car runs smooth now thanks to the spark wire getting replaced/vacuum leak fixed.

What did putting in that battery do to my car and how do I get those lights to come back on?
Im putting in a new radio so the radio lights wont be a problem anymore, but will the stock radio lights shutting off when the headlights are turned on hurt the new radio?

Hehe, sorry for such a long post, but im at a loss on what to do.

 

sounds almost like your accessory fuse blew. Di you check all your fuses?

 

yes, i checked all the fuses, none of them looked black/shot, what size fuse is that by the way?
