Tacho Jumping-Misfire

Tacho Jumping-Misfire
Guys
After driving for about half an hour my car developes a misfire and the tacho jumps about erratically.I cant really understand why the two would be linked.Although im now running StealthRam with commander 950 and an MSD dizzy its all basically the same system as the original TPI.I know my tacho is no good as the reading it gives is way too high.
Any ideas?
