Need help fuel gauge !!!!!!
I need help my 1983 z28 fuel gauge is stuck on full actually past the full mark removed the cluster took out the guage and reinstalled it and it jumps right back to the same place pegged all the way up to the top. Normally i would figure this out in time but i do not have the time leaving NYC heading to FT Lauderday next week i really would not like to have to stop every 150 miles for gas any suggestions would be greatly appericated.

Most likely it's the sending unit in the tank. The 0-90 ohm copper windings or the tiny pickup arm in the sending unit eventually fail. New GM units are an incredible $400+ so scout out the wrecking yards for a replacement, typically around $50.
