Gen 7 PWR wire to Alt?

Axle/Gears: 9", 3.50
Gen 7 PWR wire to Alt?
I'm wiring up my Accel DFI and I need a place to wire the power and ground to. Right now they come out of the harness right next to the throttlebody and alternator. Can I hook up the power wire to the nut on the back of the alternator and the ground to the case? Or would I be better off running the power wire down to the starter?
