How do you remove the headlight switch assembly??

I only have 1 more wire to hook up for my gauge panel/pod and it is for the gauge lights. I wanted to hook them up to the dimmer circuit as instructed by another member on this board.(Thanks, Apeiron!) Anyway, I don't know how to fully remove the headlight switch. Am I missing something here cause this is making me feel like I'm stupid!!! Thanks, Paul Moore

Nevermind. I found another wire to use for the main lighting for my gauges. Instead of pulling out the whole headlight switch assembly and tapping into the gray wire for the dimmer switch, I followed the wiring diagram to the fuse box. The gray wire goes nto the fuse box, and then comes out as a 7.5A dark green wire that is the INST LPS fuse. I tapped into that, and it works just fine. They even dim too!

For the future, there is a little pin under the dash - you have to push that up to remove the headlight switch ****, then you can remove the switch. It's way up in there, PITA to see.

I am doing this same upgrade myself. what guage wire did you use for the insta lamps wire that goes to the guages to power them???did you jumper all the ground wires together and tap them all into one big wire going to a ground somewhere??? I am just wondering how to wire mine up and have the fewest wires possible to deal with.I don't really plan on running sep wires for each guage if they can just be jumpered together.

I used 18 gauge wire with crimp style butt connectors. My main instrument cluster has only 1 power and ground for the lighting circuit, and only 1 power and ground for the gauge power circuit. I then ran that 1 wire to wherever it needed to go.
