NEED HELP CODE 41

I understand that this code (however not in chilton's book) is the distributor not communicating with ecm. I have an 85 TA 383ci fuel injected, Holly Stealth Ram intake w/MSD 6A ignition, 27 lb injectors fuel pressure is 38 psi. Removed air injection system (smog pump). Is their a way to by pass the MSD system without replacing my MSD distributor? Engine runs perfect when temp is below 200 degrees. this is an intermintant problem. have replaced all plugs wires (not solid core) cap and rotor. never had this problem untill car over heated a month ago (rad fan burned up installed wires on new fan backwards) oops!!! If any one could help that would be great. I read in Chilton' manual how to test distributor with ohm meter but I emagine MSD would have different specs. thanks, MARK WELLS.

I know for the V6 MSD has a wiring harness that allows you to easily connect in the ignition box and distributor. You might want to look on MSDs wiring diagrams to see how you might be able to bypass the ignition box. A lot would depend on how you wired things up.

I did not install the MSD box I purchased car the way it was set up. I am converting it from drag car to street car. The person I purchased car from butchered the wiring in many areas and used only electric or duct tape over repaired wire or not. I think I will check out the MSD web site.
