cooling fan wont run
cooling fan wont run
Hello I have a 1992 RS camaro and the cooling fan wont work. The fan wont work no matter what I do. I have changed the cooling fan motor and still nothing happens. The engine goes past 220 degrees and I try to turn the air coditioning on to make the fan work but it doesnt. I have a hunch it may be the relay but I dont know where it is. Could you tell me please
Thanks,Ridge

The relay is on the firewall, right above the master cylinder, and closest to the driver side door. To test the relay, do the following:
There will be a green wire with a white stripe going to the relay.
With the relay still connected to the wire, run a jumper from this wire to ground. This will activate the relay and force the fan to come on.
If the fan doesnt activate, make sure the relay is getting power, and replace the relay.
If the fan does activate, look elswhere in the wiring. I would start with the coolent temperature fan switch in the passenger side of the block. IT should have a single wire going to it.
Hope this helps
