hatch pull down question
ive read the repair document and am ghoing to order the replacement motor housing from TDS. howver i do not have the money just yet to buy the part.
my question is this: does anyone know a way to ghetto rig the motor housing to the frame so my trunk will continue to shut even if its just for a little while?.

You can disconnect the latch portion from the motor, use a screw driver to hold the latch up, shut the hatch with enough force to make it latch then pull the screw driver away at last second. If you pulled the screw driver out of the latch at the right moment then the trunk should have latched. although it will still move up and down slightly it should still be latched. And it won't be very water tight. I had to do this to my girlfriends camaro while I refurbished her hatch pull down motor.
