In-Line Fuseholder Fried

I have an inline fuseholder for my Flex-a-lite variable speed cooling fan controller - it runs power from the battery to the controller, with a 20 amp fuse inline to protect the controller. Today, the fan worked, then it didn't. When I checked, this inline fuseholder fried itself, but the fuse remained in tact. Why would the fuseholder fry, but the fuse not blow? Bad fuse not manufactured to spec or something? The fuse is the correct amperage - I assume anyways - it was the fuse included in the kit from Flex-a-lite.

Any insight before I rewire this the same way again?

Bad contact between fuse and fuse holder. Had this problem with my Amp fuse one time, switched over to the blade type fuses and no problems since.

Well, it is a blade type fuse, but I'll try another fuse holder and fuse and see.
