Does anyone know where to get replacement wiring that has the same dual color stripes as in our car's wiring? I was thinking about replacing some of my wiring in the engine harness since it looks like some has melted insulation. I figured I would inspect the entire harness since I have it out of the car right now and replace any of the connectors and any other wiring that looks bad. How would I go about replacing/repairing the wiring...I thought about finding some new replacement wiring but haven't really found anything with dual colors. If anyone knows any vendors please tell me!!
And before you tell me to look in the junkyard, forget it. It's probably in no better shape than mine and I have a CFI harness, and no aftermarket complete harness are available. If I can repair it myself, I'd rather do that.

Most major suppliers will custom stripe/trace wires. You generally have to purchase a full spool (500') and pay a fee for the maring. They'll also mark in lineal feet, incremental numbers, letters, or codes, custom numbers or characters, etcetera.
Call your local electrcal supply house and inquire.

I know you already killed the idea, but if you don't want to buy a giant spool, then I'd reconsider the junkyard. I collect as much wire as I can from parts cars and keep it in a large box for custom wiring projects or repairs. If the insulation is clean and intact and not cracked and the wires aren't corroded, they'll work just fine. If you get real concerned, you can test the length of junkyard wire with an Ohm meter to check its resistance.
But, in addition to what Vader said, tracer wire is available from online suppliers, some of which I can give you links to if you'd like, just let me know.

thanks for the replies...let me have the links anyway, but I really don't need 500' of wire, especially of one kind!
