fans running all the time
I just had a 5.7 tpi engine swapped into my monte carlo ss. We tied the stock harness into my monte carlo one. My AC is not currently hooked up. I'm wondering why both of my fans are running all the time. they are powered into the tpi fan relay and should be controlled by the computer. Currently they both turn on while the engine is running. They do not go on with just the key in the on position. Anyone have any idea what is going on. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with the AC not being wired into the system.

Stupid question, but was the wiring harness changed at all? Do you have the specific wiring diagram for the harness you used? If so trace the wire controlling the coil of the fan relay.

We used the stock 87 camaro harness. The only part of the harness that was changed was the part that is wired into the fuse box. In other words we needed the harness tied into my body. I'll follow the wire and see where it goes. Maybe its hard wired to the ignition. But what i find weird is that they do not run with the key in the on position.
