VATS harness help...

Doing an engine swap, harness/engine/tpi (everything) is from an '88 GTA, Car cranks over, but won't fire injectors (I do think it's firing the cold start injector, because it "almost" starts). I removed the Pass-Key module from the GTA today, but every wiring schematic I've found doing the search, doesn't say anything about the green wire (Says it's not used). I have eight wires from the module, I know that the white/black wire and the purple/white go to the resistor (rather than key), the orange is 12V+ constant, the pink/black is ign 12v+, black/white is ground, grey is to the security light on dash which I'm not using, Blue is to the ECM, and there is a green....Where does the green wire go, do I need it? Please .

starter disable relay. You only need it if you have the starter disable relay.

Roc87, I was wondering if you can tell me where you found your Vats module. Was it on the firewall behind the defroster or some where else?

I have a 92 firebird and i need to swap out my Vats, so I am trying to get a jist of where I need to look for my vats system. Thanks

Just sent you an email. The module was a MAJOR PITA to get to, and that's with the entire interior/centerconsole removed from vehicle. The module is in the center of the dash, behind the dash, but infront of the defroster vents. I'll see if I can get a picture of it.

Thanks for the email and info. I replaced the steerig column. I got a key and a vats module with the steering column. The old column was trashed and the key was gone along with it. I have been playing with resistors and a multimeter all day and I have gotten no results. I have the das half way apart now. I am going to dig deeper and swap out the vats module and hopefully that will do the trick. The key and the new module go together so as long as the vats onnectors are the same it should start with no problem. Thanks again.

I've heard that the wiring colors are sometimes different, but I'm not sure about the actual plug. I know you can unplug the harness from it without too much trouble. I think you have to take out the gauge cluster to see it, and/or get to the module. Best of luck.
