82 headlight motors ?
uhm i was jut informed by a fellow TGO member that the 82 headlight motors arent the same as later years ?
but i was always under the assumption that the only change was in 87
i am really confused ?
please explain thanks
my 82 ones are both broken and i have to find replacements
so that is why i made this thread
i was informed i cant use 84 ones i was after
so i am really wanting to learn something here, ?
this is the first time i ever heard they were not the same from 82-86
is this jut yet another of the seemingly thousands of parts on the 82's that are one year only or what ?
already found out today that the freaking exhaust is one year only in 82
so damn... what else is 82 only that i dont know about ?
other than my seat belts and my sill plates and my door panels with the crank hole filler buttons, and ?
thanks

the difference in the motors isn't in there style but it is in there wiring connectors. 1984 used a 3 wire connector while the 82's used a two wire connector that plugged into a relay mounted to the headlight motor, the third wire on a 82's motor went somewhere else.
Yes you can cut and splice wires on a 84's motor to work on a 82
unique to 82 only parts
wiper motor
decklid has a pin that slides into the lock assembly, I've never seen that on later models. or maybe this was on my 84
there pos speedometer cable setup
the pos turbo 200
shifter plate
upper arm rest bolt screws into a plastic thing later models it screwed into a metal bracket.
pathetic exhaust system

i see your looking for a y-pipe ... sorry its off topic but if you get TPI manifolds and a y-pipe they will fit the car fine, I'm using a set from a 89 iroc on mine they are alot better flowing then the 82's lg-4 setup

i hve no idea what to offer you for them, only you know what you think you have to have in order to make it worth it to you
you know,
pm me or something if ya could, 62656 here btw
actually i think just sent you a pm lol
---------------------------------------------------------------
and the later y pipe has the oval shaped pipe
i want to avoid that, needs to be perfectly round
its just a stock 70s 350, the LG4 pipe will be fine, i jut want to get the car going again, i dont care
