Need sensor help ASAP!
I just got a MAF sensor from fedex that i ordered from GM parts direct for my 88 iroc, and i remove my old one and get ready to pop then one is.. the problem is my connector is a 5 female connector on my car and my old bosche maf is a 5 prong male. and the new one is an ac delco and it only has three a three prong make connector.... did they send the wrong one or am i missing something here
even the insides of each one looks different, i just put the old one back in because i couldnt get an answer quick enough and i doubt gmpartsdirect.com will accept my return because it's a nonreturnable item.

The problem is that they sent you the MAF sensor for a V6 VIN "S" engine instead of one for a V8 VIN "F" or "8" engine. The V6 engine only a three pin connector while the V8 engine has a five pin connector.

Odd.. well there was no option to choose any other ones it was just a generic model. I went to autozone and they showed me one for my car so I ended up buying a remanufactured bosch. I just hope gmpartsdirect.com lets me return this, because it's listed as a 'non-returnable' item.

I tried getting one from AutoZone several years ago for my 89 Iroc-Z and all they offered was a remanufactured one with a 90 day warranty for about $140.00. I went to Advance and got a new one from them with a limited life time warranty for about $135.00. It was made by a company called Micro-Tech and hasn't given me any problems.
