cigarette lighter not working correctly

so i have a 1989 formula firebird that has a cd player that doesnt work in it so all i have is the radio and i have a monster icarplay (bought to use in my other cars ive had it a while) it worked perfect for me for a day, then when i was taking a buddy of mine to the airport all of the sudden it just stopped working. i can plug it in and get the light on the male connector to turn on but nothing from the rest of the icarplay or anything else i use in my cigarette lighter for that matter. so i guess my question is since i know its getting power could it just be the ground thats acting up on me? and if so where should i reground it (maybe on the cd players ground?) i just want to not have to listen to the radio with out spending the 100 dollars for a new cd player or tape player. any help is appreciated thanks.

My suggestion would be to plug the acc. back into the lighter outlet and wiggle it around to see if the light stays lit or flickers. If it flickers I would check the connection at the back of the outlet. The connection can work loose from plugging and un-plugging the lighter and other accesories into it.

Try something else in the cig lighter to see if it is working. If not I would just plan on replacing the lighter socket, really easy to do. If it shorted out there is a reason why and it may effect other items. And finally I would get the CD player working properly.

ok so if i jiggle it the light does flicker and such, so that means there is a short in cigarette lighter plug so that means i need to replace it, so heres the question how the **** do i get it out with out having to break it out of the plastic? and i can get the replacement at like radio shack or shucks right? thanks

and i the stereo works good but when i put in a cd the motor just doesnt engage and spin the disk. so it needs to be replaced (either the unit or the motor to the spindle).
