Ignition mystery
I am totally lost. After doing a head/cam swap i started the car with the new gm hei dist. and broke the cam in. well after changing oil and starting again it just quit. After looking i found that the 3 wires going into the cap had touched each other and burnt. Well ok i bought a new cap and rotor, installed and nothing. I took the coil out of the car and put it into my truck and it started right up. Well must be the msd right? I hooked the truck msd up to the car and nothing. Put it back into the truck, fired right up.
12 volts are going into the msd box.
I hooked up a meter to the pos. and neg. wires going from the msd to the coil and had 2.4 with the key on and 64 when i tried cranking.
thanks for any help.

I finally figured it out. A 3 ft. piece of wire to the hot side of the coil was not getting any current thru it.???????? It was a new wire and was not burnt.
Something that could only happen to me i guess.
