need help finding short in fuel pump circuit
everytime i try to start my car, it pops the fuel pump fuse up by the battery. i had this problem a couple of months ago, but apparently jiggling wires looking for the problem made it go away and i forgot about it. couple days ago, i hit a turn slightly fast and it died, hasnt started since.
its a fused power lead straight from the battery to the ecm, and non-fused from the ecm to the fuel pump correct? would an exposed wire anywhere in either 12v lead pop that fuse, or only between the ecm and battery? just looking for a good place to start, im not looking forward to ripping the wiring out of my car looking for it this weekend.
im still a beginner electrical trouble shooter, but the only thing that could possibly pop that fuse is a 12v lead coming into contact with a ground right?

bump for only having 2 more nights off work to fix this
I'd concentrate on the fuel pump relay and pump wiring. The pump wiring travels under the carpet to the rear seat, then out the vehicle to the tank. If you're lucky, you'll find a bad relay or wiring near it. That wirign also goes to the oil pressure switch, and may be grounding there. You can disconnect the oil pressure switch in case it's grounding internally to eliminate that.

permanently or just to test if its the oil pressure switch causing it?
the harness that plugs into the fuel pump relay is in pretty bad shape, but i dont want to rewire the whole car, can i buy a crimp kit or something for the wire tips and find a junkyard harness to use?
when you say i may find a relay near it do you mean near the fuel pump? or you talking about the relay cluster under the hood?
what if im not lucky?
