Distributor Cover Rubbing Wires
I happened to notice today that the plastic distributor cover (the piece behind the TPI plenum that mimics its appearance) has been rubbing against some of the thin wires that are partially under it. These wires actually now have nicks in the insulation, through which the bare copper is clearly visible. For now, I used some electrical tape to cover the nicks, and some flexible wire conduit to try and protect them a bit.
This seems like a design flaw, that the wires stick up so far that they are inevitably going to rub the edge of the cover. Has anyone else noticed this?
If necessary, I can take pics of the area in question.

I wouldn't know about you're asking but for the wires:
There is something called brush-on electrical tape?????? That might work better, not sure though with engine heat temperatures being involved, might want to solder/heatshrink it instead.

Yeah, I was thinking of that brush-on stuff.
Basically, the greater problem here, is that the wires come straight up out of their plastic connectors and head right towards the distributor cover edge. The cover has to sit tightly on top of them with the way they are placed, and this causes them to rub against the edge of the cover as the engine vibrates. This must be a problem for more than just my car....
