hesitation and coil arcing to coil wire post.

so i replaced my spark plug wires and now i get hesitation when i press the gas pedal in the 750-2000rpm range but after that its fine. my coil is also arching so im thinking its the coil but i just want to sure. and if it is the coil im switchnig to carb soon and i was wondering if i can run my tbi setup with an hei distributor instead of the stock type one (i know that is a question for a different forum though). all help is apreciated. thanks

its archong from the very center of the coil to the bottom of the coil wire boot (on the coil it self not the on the distributor) i replaced the wires with the stock replacement size because i was getting detanation when i put a load on the engine but it was fine with out a load on the engine.

If the coil housing isn't cracked, I would start by checking the grounds on the engine. there is one on the back of each head, and one or two on the front bottom corners.

well i found the problem, the next time i change my spark plug wires im going to put it on jack stands so i can do all of them my self so i dont have to have some one else do the back ones, my #7 cylinder spark plug wire was not connected and electrical current always takes the path or least resistance doesnt it? works great now. thanks for your guys help, i do feel really stupid now though.
