OK I have a 92 camaro 305 V8 TBI all Stock. The other day I shut the car off and all the power shut off but the engine stayed running. So I figured iginition switch on the column replace it with new same prob. Get a funny idea and pulled the POWER ACC FUSE fuse/relay 30amp with the engine running in the key off position and the engine shut off Plug it back in and now the engine shuts off with the key but.... THe IP stays powered with the key off. Also the wipers, rear def and the guages stayed powered but the radio and the blower wont work all with the key off. So I remove the rear def switch and the power above mentioned goes away key off. plug back in and powers up HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE.

 

ok i would like to apologize that the fuse description was incorrect. It was the POWER ACC 30 amp relay/fuse not the WDO. stupid me just realized i dont have power windows or door locks DOH!. Still baffled about this whole damn thing. I can get the car to shut off now and start normally but the tach volts and rear def still function with the key off and in my hand any help would be greatly accepted. ALso if anybody has a wiring diag of the power acc circuit i could use or view the would help. Thanks again.

 

ok found the wiring diag. im still confused though. This is not like me to get confused on this whole thing. Im almost certain its a short somewhere duh. I just cant figure out what would cause only the volts and tach guage and rear def to stay powered and nothing else also the infl rest light is on to this is all too much.

 

Ok figured out what the problem was. After finding the wiring diag and tracing out the circuits of the power acc relay and the guage circuit, I finally figured it to be the rear def switch shorted internally. Replaced the switch and everything is working great.
