Need pic of Heater Blower relay and connector
Hi,
Can anyone take a pic of the heater blower relay and the connector it plugs into?
As you know I'm trying to install that newer style heater box into my 84, and I've been reading that the A/C models have the relay. Trying to figure out what connector the relay goes on. I have 3 connectors on the harness, but none of them really look like one for a relay.
Is it a special type relay?
Thanks
Chris.

Ya I have the wiring diagram, but I have 3 connectors under the hood that aren't used. I think 1 of them are for the relay, the one I thought was for the relay is an oval shape. The other 2 are found.
I thought maybe the oval shape one was it, but then looking at the pic in the first link. It looks like a normal square relay is used. So now I'm not sure.
That's why I would like a closer up pic of the relay connector. To help me locate it.

Nobody has a pic?
Have another question, I have the blower motor in. The lower speeds work, but I've noticed that when I turn the fan switch to 'off' the motor still spins slowly.
Is that normal?
I can't remember if it did that before or not?
Thanks
Chris.

The plug is squarish. Check the above link for colors (maybe black, red, orange, and purple or brown--I don't recall offhand).

On my '84 there is always a low air flow out of the vents even with the switch off. I'm pretty sure the air is from the blower spinning at low speed. Normal for GM cars.
OK that's good to hear.
When it didn't shut off, I thought I had wired something wrong, but there really isn't much to wire wrong. So I was starting to think it was suppose to do that.
Does that pic I took of that connector, does that look like the one that the relay is suppose to go to?

It might be if it's got 4 or 5 wires to it. My car had an aftermarket A/C put in by the dealer, and the relay and wiring are not stock so I can't help there. Here's a wiring diagram for an '84

Try the partsamerica.com web site - they have pretty good pictures of the relay that might give you an idea if that's the plug or not.
