Swapping to GTA tail lamps on 89 Formula

Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.27
Swapping to GTA tail lamps on 89 Formula
I bought a set of mint 85-90 GTA tail lamps form my 89 Formula. Went to install them this weekend, and i have six bulbs per lamp assembly, and the GTA's only have 4 bulbs per assembly. Has anyone done this mod, and what do I do? Also, the tabs on some of the sockets don't match either. Thanks in advance for any help, Chris.
