I just put my new engine in and know it is time to start rewiring everything.The problem is it has been 6 years since I took it apart.I remember most stuff but here's one I don't. Where does the wire connected to the positive battery cable go? I don't mean the cable that goes to the starter I mean the small wire about 18" long coming off the factory clamp?

I'm going to guess and say your alt. A little more info would help, like year of car and what not. even a pic of the wire and conector would be a help.
