Quick Question for Turn Signal Wiring

Hey guys, I'm building an Evo kit and it requires a single filament front turn signal bulb (its a 194 sized bulb). The bulb is built in to the headlight assembly, so I cannot use a different size.

My question is this- which wire do I hook it up to? I have it wired to the light blue wire, but then it doesnt flash when the headlights are on. The issue is probably due to the fact that the normal turn signal uses a dual filament bulb, but I thought that the high beam filament was always used for the turn signal, which I thought is the blue wire?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't wait to get this thing on the road, but I'm plagued by the wiring gremlins!

You're right...The bulb uses two connections. Brown for the parking lights, light blue is the turn. It should still flash without the headlights on at all though. Just no parking light function.

High vs low shouldn't make any difference, to the turn signal circuit.

So which ground should I use then? Right now, I have it hooked up using the light blue and brown wire- I took it directly from the circuit that held the side marker lights.

If I'm reading your post correctly, I should probably be using the blue wire and the black wire?

This sounds obvious now that I'm writing it, so I'll go out and try it!!!

Wow, that was obvious- I was using the brown wire as a ground instead of the black wire. I would have realized my mistake if the brown wire didn't actually work as a ground when the lights are off!

Thanks for saving me a major headache.

Lol, yes I fixed it, but that schematic is great! I'll be using it for many more things to come.

These may be of use too then, for other issues...
