Headlight Issues

I have an '83 T/A, have had for about 4 years now. On my way to work this morning my dash light and all my park lights cut out and my headlights wont close now. The only way anything works is if i turn the switch on half way but the headlights still wont close. Does anyone have any ideas, I am gonna loose my mind soon.

Sounds like a faulty switch, could be dirty contacts. try cleaning or blowing through with a air line

By "tried the switch and connections behind the switch", do you mean you replaced the switch with a new one? I hope so.

Check the tail light fuse. It won't resolve the dash lights issue, but headlight motors failing to retract can be caused by a burnt tail light fuse.

No I didnt replace the switch, i took it out and took it apart and cleaned all the connections in it. I put a test light on all the connections on the harness with the switch off and on and everything there seemed fine. I have also checked all the fuses in the fuse box. Havent took a test light to them yet but I will try that later tonight. If anyone else has a suggestion please feel free to tell me. Thank you to the two I have already got.
