ignition problem?
i have a problem and i think i have it figured out.i just need someone to confirm my theory.ok here goes....
im driving along the highway and all of a sudden the car dies and starts right back up.well i have a manual trans and thats why its starting right back up.kinda like im push starting it except im already rolling.it does this every once in a while.not too often.well at night when i have my lights on and this happens i hear the warning tone that tells me i forgot to turn my headlights off.when this tone stops is when the car instantly fires back up.remember that nothing else is shutting off(radio, headlights, dash lights).well what this is telling me is that the key cylinder in the steering column is bad, therefore causing the ignition to shut off(exactly like when you turn the key back one notch to kill the car and your headlights are still on you get the warning tone).but my question is...is there just a loose wire going to the cylinder,or is the cylinder itself bad.
