hi guys weird problem i have 1989 gta my hatch switch button only works when i pull up the e brake is that normal??? if i dont pull up the e brake it wont work everything else work if i open the hatch with the key the motor works fine no problems

 

That is a safety feature. It's something I need to fix on mine. It will intermittently decide not to work and the only way I can open the hatch is with the key. I have the part, just need to get into the console and replace it.
