Headlights go down not up

I have a 86 firebird and the motors are good but the lights wont go up. If I put the lights up manualy, they work fine when I put them down. Cant figuire it out need help please. thanks

I think there is a tech article on this site which describes the problem. There is a plastic gear inside the motor that wears out. You can get replacement gears or a whole new motor from our board sponsor Lon Salgren at http://www.top-downsolutions.com/

With the '86 models, there is also an isolation relay involved. If the "up" contacts in the isolation realy are not operating correctly, the headlight doors will not rise.

Where is the isolation relay located and how do I fix the problem?
