rear hatch pulldown problem
My pulldown won't come back up, the whole part that moves seems really loose. I can slam it down and it just makes noise so I open it to save the motor. This just started so if there is some way to fix it let me know!

Maybe that's why it's broke, your not supposed to slam them!!! But a lot of times the motor will go bad and stop working, or one of the switches will go bad. But if you here it running it may be stripped gears, you can get new parts at the sponsor link to the right...Top Down Solutions, mine broke and I was able to pick up a working one at a junkyard for $25.

The part that broke on yours is the clar plastic piece that the motor slips into. Likely it broke where the 3 screws attach it to the frame. This is a common failure. I sell new ones (TDS 103121) that are reinforced in this area with several pieces of aluminum and epoxy so they are stronger than new. You can look at the Tech Atricle I wrote on this web site or download the instructions for the 101170 aftermarket nylon guides from the documentation section of my web site. Loose could also be bad guides. Grab hold of the latch portion. If you get movement up/down it is the motor housing. If you get movement side-to-side and front-to-back it is bad guides. Click on the Top-Down Solutions sponsor link on the right hand side of this page and you'll find all the parts you'll need to repair your hatch pull-down unit.

Thank you for the responses. How can I close it until I get it fixed? It won't latch and I know the striker is 'open'. Is there a way to get it in the right spot one more time to close it?
