fuel pump wiring probloms

ok so i'm not sure if this is a mechanical or electrical problom but since i can't get power to the pump i'm guessing electrical. So my problom, is when i turn the key i get now power to the pump (the pump is brand new and it has been tested). At the fuse box the fuel pump has juice but some where between the fuse box and the pump i'm having probloms, i solved that by using a jumper wire but thats no good cuz the fuel pump just runs all the time. So i need to know basicly where and if my 86 camaro has a fuel pressure regulator and could this be the problom of my lack of juice to the pump. Sorry if i lost anyone threw this explnation but i'm running outta ideas.... any input is welocome thanks guys

Maybe will help - not sure....

On later models, there are 2 sources for fuel pump juice - one is through the fuel pump relay located on the drivers side firewall next to brake booster - on my TBI motor the ECM sends a signal to this relay which thus sends juice to the pump for the 2-second prime.

The second source is through the oil pressure sending unit - this is either a) at rear of motor, top of block, just back of the intake in the center (mounts into the china wall), or b) just above the oil filter. This is the circuit that sends constant voltage to the fuel pump once the key is on.

The oil pressure sending unit can go bad and keep juice from the pump - it can even go bad and make the pump run always, whether key is on, or even in the car.

Other thing to look for (in TBI car anyways) - is a fuse, passenger side, in the fenderwell, just where the battery is - it's tucked up in there, against the fender - if this fuse blows little works on the car.

Not sure if that helps any - like I said this comes from my experiences with a later model TBI car.

well my dad went over to the garage last night and tested the oil pressure sending unit and it was fine, he check the fuel pump switch and he couldn't get any power from any the wires so, i'm going with tonight and we got a wiring diagram i got from here to test some more stuff and see if we can track down the problom, thanks for giving us some type of direction.
