PLEASE help me wire my megashifter

i've gone over the wiring diagram multiple times, and i've seen the threads that break it down real easy, but i still can't find what i did wrong, and the car wont start. i bought a voltometer but dont exactly know how to use it, it only registers currents when i have it on ohms, and then it registers on pretty much everything, even the ground. could someone either show me some good pics of their wiring or tell me exactly which wires need to be correct for the motor to start, so i can get it running and worry about everything else later.
thanks for the help (i need it), brandon

well sir, when you put your car into drive or reverse, thers a little switch that trips, and prevents you from starting it. first off, are you sure you are in park and your tranny is in park? did you remove any electronics from the origional shifter?

im no electrical engineer but i thought a voltmeter was foolproof. turn your dial till it points to V (that means its reading volts). now there will be a bunch of numbers to choose from; probably 2, 20, 200. you want to select 20. it may also go up in 10's, but whatever it's incriments are in, select the one directly after 13 volts (20, 15, 30...whatever...). now to make it work, your one lead needs to be placed in the ground plug on the voltmeter (itll be a straight line going up and down and at the bottom there is a black circle) and the other one needs to be plugged into the DC volts plug (commonly there are a bunch of different plugs for different readings, biggest difference is between AC and DC current, unless you bought a dam good voltmeter, chances are you need to select the correct plug). in order for you to read voltage you need to read a hot wire and a ground wire. if you put the positive lead to the positive battery terminal and the negative lead to the negative side of the battery, you will read about 12 volts. now that you know your battery isnt dead, go over to your wires and find one that is hot. and go through your diagram again, confirm that you have power where you should or shouldnt have power.

sorry if i bored you with that or if you already knew how to read one...by the sounds of your posts, you needed a lot of help.

Re: PLEASE help me wire my megashifter

alright, i've come to the conclusion that the relay is bad because it isnt clicking on. talked to b&m, they told me to run the blue wire directly to pin 12 and bypass the switches and i should hear the relay click, which it isnt, and it should start, which it isnt- so its the relay (i think)

does anyone have any alternative solutions to using this specific relay? can i use 2 seperate ones?

any ideas at all are helpfull, thanks.
