It's on the transmission tail housing.

If there was a problem with the VSS you'd have the Check Engine light on.

Well the check eng light came on from time to time. Mostly over 3k rpm but I changed out that sensor today and everything is in perfect working order now. Infact the only problem I had was finding the sensor. I was looking in the front of the tranny bout ready to take out the solenoid for no good reason. I am without a doubt no mechanic but I get by. Thanks for the help.

Actually since I changed it, when I start it it revs pretty high by itself.
