melted the coil

My 86 Camaro dies on the way to work one day and would not start again after looking there was black plastic bubbling out of the top of the coil... after changing the coil the car will still not start there is no spark at the spark plug... any help would be greatly appreciated... thank you

are you definatly getting spark from the new coil? might have damaged some wiring...could have been a short in the wiring that killed your coil.

Well i did test the wire going into the coil and it showed power running through.... today i changed the cap and rotor and still not running and no spark.. thanks for the help

You may have fried the ignition module
