Fan Wiring
Upon cleaning up all this messing wiring in my 91 RS LO3. I pulled a wire out of the fuse box, assuming it belonged with all the *******ed CB wiring I removed. Well after a short trip up the road and back I learned it was the fan. It's ran into the wiper fuse. How is this supposed to be hooked up as I do not like nor trust this wiring. any help would be great.

Re: Fan Wiring
thick gauge black. I'm sure it's not a factory wire. It is looped around the prongs on the fuse itself, not running in the back of the fuse block. HTH

Re: Fan Wiring
If you pulled a wire that didn't belong in the fuse box, I wouldn't put it back. God knows what it does, where it goes, if it's missing a grommet on the way through the firewall etc. You don't want your car to burn down.
If this wire happened to be powering your electric fan then it's just a hack job, probably because the old fan circuit didn't work right.
It's safer to actually fix the fan circuit than to reconnect a mysterious wire.
You can start by looking at the schematic for your engine and figuring out what wire does what and whether it's good or bad. If you need any help, feel free to ask for it, that's why we're here.
Our local ATGO diagram page has diagrams for all engines and some more advanced schematics too. For your engine, look for the link named "Fig53_1991_5_0L_throttle_body_fuel_injection_engine_wiring".
The electric fan uses a relay that should be (no guarantee that it's still there) under the hood in the corner by the brake master cylinder. It should be attached to the firewall with a bracket. All you need to start is a voltmeter.
Hope this helps.

Yep I knew it didn't go there and I knew the risk involved running it that way and I did/am asking for help. :-).
Pretty sure that relay isn't there because the alternator wiring was all screwed up and I am in that area fixing it. Could be though I'll double check and thanks for the link. Haynes auto manual is kind of a headache.
