where does the wire come from?

where does the wire come from?
Does the wire for the temp gauge come from the grommet behind the dizzy or from the driverside with the relays and all? car is an 86 originally a carbed 305 now a carbed 350

The temp sending unit wire should be green.And,on my '83,it comes from the bulkhead connector on the firewall.There were some wiring changes '84 and later so I'm not sure if your '86 will be the same(except for wire color0.
