Help with the Hood Light

Ok before my engine swap my hood light worked fine. Now it won't come on. And I have to charge my battery about once every 2 weeks if I don't drive the car. The bulb is new, and the inline fuse (the one that is closed inside the power wire) is in good shape. What else can I check? Anyone have a diagram?

Perhaps the mercury switch is broken.

Yes, in the base of the light housing. Bending the housing down a bit "might" get the light to work.

Re: Help with the Hood Light

Do you have a good ground on the hood and the light itself? Measure voltage on the metal "lampshade". If you see 12V, it's a ground issue.

Hope this helps.

Re: Help with the Hood Light

thanks guys, I'll check that out. I relocated the hood light once due to a strut tower brace but I had no problems with it then. Hope I can get it fixed.
