fuel pump right?

Engine: 350 tpi
Transmission: auto
Axle/Gears: poss
fuel pump right?
by manipulating the fuel pump relay with a screw driver (making contact) i get power to the pump.but it doesn't turn on. however i shouldn't have to use a screw driver to make it make contact either. but still when i do no pump.
