Can an MSD Ignition box just die and quit working?
I've had an MSD-6A ignion box installed on my car four about 4 years (I bought it used). I went out to start the car....and it just cranked...it wouldn't start. The Fuel PSI is fine. So, I unhooked the MSD and ran it stock. It then started fine. Is there anyway to test the box itself or did it just die? I've never had any problems with it before...

My friend and mechanic that helped built my engine and has been raceing and an ASE mechanic for 30 years or more told me to keep some jumper wires with me incase mine went out.He has seen alot of them just die over the years.I would hate to be stuck somewhere if that happens. You can contact msd and they will fix it for a fair price.alot cheaper than a new one.Ithink the newer ones are supposed to be made a little better and not as prone to messing up but I`ve been through 2 MSD blaster coils in the last year and my stock one still works when I replaced it both times. My digital 6 is working fine so far.BTW have you recently done any welding or anything on the car?
