LED's Wont FLASH!!!!

AHHH!!!

Alright, my 1157 45 LED Bulbs came in today.

I put them in my front two parking light/turn signals...
They come on, they just dont flash.... And they threw a F LAMP (Burnt Bulb) Indication on my driver info center in my gta.

So I go buy a heavy duty flasher....Well, it got rid of the burnt bulb indication, but it still didnt fix the No flashing problem. I then went and bought a 3-6 LED flasher with 3 pins on it, I bent off the extra pin, and plugged it in, no luck there either...

The lights flash when I put my hazard lights on.
Whenever the car is running and I signal left or right, the bulb gets brighter, but doesnt actually flash, it just stays on....

With a heavy duty thermal flasher installed, all lights including my sidemarker/tail lights turn on, but they dont flash.

With the LED flasher in there, everything comes on, but the sidemarkers are EXTREMELY dim, to the point of having to put my face on the sidemarker to see the light, and the rear lights dont flash.

I have more LEDs on the way, should be here in the next 2 days, to replace my sidemarkers (front and rear), my liscense plate light, and my map light, and I may be totally wrong, but hopefully when I replace my sidemarker lights with LEDs, that LED flasher I bought will make everything work correctly.

I am ordering an LED flasher that you can get off of superbrightleds.com tonite, maybe that is what I need, because im NOT cutting into my factory wiring to add resistors.

If ANYONE has ANY advice that may help me find out why my LED parking lights wont flash it would be GREATLY appreciated. These lights are too cool looking for them to not work

Sounds like you are on top of it. The LED's simply do not pull enough current for your bimetal type flasher to work properly. The LED flasher, if it is what the name implies, should fix you right up.

Re: LED's Wont FLASH!!!!

Well....

I finally got them to work!

I ended up having to put a load resistors on the bulb....bought them at Autozone, they are basically a resistor on the ground and tail/brake wires on the back of the bulb socket.

Only thing that makes me mad is that I wasted 20$ on a LED specific flasher.

A heavy duty flasher works just fine.......

Also, im posting videos of what they look like at night, look for them in the Detailing and Appearance section.

Re: LED's Wont FLASH!!!!

Hold on, so you put LED's in your car to drop the amp draw and then you added load resistors to increase the amp draw again? That sounds like you just defeated the purpose of the switch to LED's.

An LED-friendly turn signal flasher costs anywhere from $10-$15. $20 is already overpriced. If you connect it right, it will flash the LEDs with no problem. You just need to connect the 3rd prong to ground, if I'm not mistaken, not bend it.

The problem with the sidemarkers not lighting up could be solved by using LEDs for them as well.
